Some Do's and Don'ts of Planning
The planning system is quite complex and people who are not familiar with it often find it difficult to know what points to raise when supporting or objecting to a planning application. CPRE Gloucestershire has produced a short guide for communities. We hope the tips in the guide will be useful for communities when responding to any application for development in their neighbourhood.

National CPRE resources
CPRE and National Association of Local Councils (NALC) booklets

Javelin Park - a blot in the making
26 January 2015
CPRE was profoundly disappointed to learn that Eric Pickles had decided to allow the Javelin Park incinerator appeal. But, in a last minute attempt to stop this poorly conceived development, we encourage everyone to sign the e-petition demanding that the County Council terminate the contract with UBB in order to explore less environmentally intrusive options.

STOP PRESS
A revised planning application was considered by Forest of Dean District Council on 19th January 2016 and refused. CPRE's concerns about the impact of the proposals on the character of the area and over the quality of the agricultural land involved featured strongly in the planning balance.

Planning
CPRE is concerned with planning at two levels. We input to the process of preparing the local plans in Gloucestershire which guide development management decisions by our local authorities; and we scrutise individual planning applications responding where proposed developments would be damaging, and where necessary we engage with planning appeals.
CPRE Gloucestershire Policy Statements
CPRE Gloucestershire has developed a set of policy statements. These interpret CPRE national policies in a Gloucestershire context. The polices, which are regularly reviewed and updated, should be read as a set.
